While there is a warranty or maintenance period that the builder must provide for any new home, there are many materials, construction systems and finishes that require regular maintenance by the home owner to keep the building in good condition.

Part of great customer service would be to provide a Home Owner's Manual that sets out the obligations of the home owner and highlights the type and frequency of various maintenance regimes throughout the home.
