Why use a Privacy Notice?

Under the Privacy Act 1988, most businesses are required to seek permission from people from whom you collect their personal information to use their information for business purposes.

A Privacy Notice is one way of gaining that permission for the use of their information. It could be for the use of photos of their homes on your website, their testimonials on digital media or to use their details to contact financial institutions regarding their loan application.

Regardless of the application, you should always seek and gain the permission of your clients to use any information about them and explain how it will be used.
